Counselling Team
THE MPU COUNSELLING AND OUTREACH TEAM
Motto: Reaching out in Love
The counseling and outreach team is a subsidiary or subgroup of the Methodist Presbyterian students Union (Legon)
It was established with the mission ministering healing to the body, soul and spirit of members of the congregation through counseling, that’s, giving guidance on specific, spiritual, material and social issues.
We are able to achieve the above based on the principle of;
Love for all
Imparting knowledge and wisdom
Imparting a strong sense of positive character and good leadership (John 21:15, Hosea 4:6)
A few of our responsibilities include
- Visiting members of the union to discuss issues of concern to the union in general and other challenges affecting them and try to offer solutions to such concerns.
- Counseling members on issues such as bereavement, relationship career planning and other social issues.
- Again we follow up on new believers to help them germ their feet in the Lord. Visiting hospitals, schools, prisons, orphanages to evangelise and minister hope to them as part of our outreach programmes.
WHO QUALIFIES TO BE A COUNSELLOR?
A counselor is always found at the giving side of life, offering guidance, helping people make right decisions and so, one who qualifies must be a matured Christian
- Having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ
- Holy Spirit filled
- Ready to walk with the Lord
MPU members are therefore invited to join the team even as we seek to make the best of ourselves and the church as a whole.
