Prayer Band

Introduction

“I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth,” Isaiah 62:2-7 (NIV).

“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake, I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like blazing torch,” Isaiah 62:1 (NIV).

The Prayer Band is the prayer department of the Union, a wonderful family with an average membership of 80.

Functions

• Like watchmen to the house of Israel, we intercede for the Union-the members, executives as well as the patrons and patronesses (Ezekiel 33:7, Isaiah 62: 2).

• In order to bear much fruit, we pray into all activities of the Union to ensure their success and to impact the life of the members (John 15:5).

• To give rest to the weary and heavily burdened, we also pray on behalf of members based on their prayer requests (Matthew 11:28).

Meeting Times

Prayer Band meetings

• Monday evenings from 9:00p.m.-10:14p.m.at Legon Hall Chapel.

• Friday evenings from 9:00p.m.-10:30p.m.on Sarbah Field adjacent to the MPU portion of the field.

• Pre-Service Prayer (Sundays) from 6:30a.m.-7:00a.m. at church service premises.

• Post-Service Prayer (Sundays) after the end of church service.

Union Prayer Meetings

• Feast of Joy (Wednesdays) from 12:30p.m.-1:30p.m.at Akuafo Hall Chapel.

• Covenant Hour (Saturdays) from 10:00p.m.-11:00p.m. on Sarbah Field at the MPU portion.

• Midnight Call (every Saturday before Communion Sunday) from 7:00p.m.-9:00p.m. on Sarbah Field at the MPU portion.
